Practical limit
10,000 location targets per campaign.

Where to find it in the UI

Google Ads → Video campaign → Settings → Locations

Step-by-step: ZipFencer → YouTube Ads

  1. 1

Pick the YouTube ad format (in-stream, in-feed, Shorts).

  2. 2

Export ZIPs from ZipFencer using your service radius.

  3. 3

In the Video campaign, paste ZIPs under Locations → Advanced search → Bulk.

  4. 4

Layer Custom Intent or In-Market audiences on top.

  5. 5

Monitor by location to spot ZIPs with zero spend — common on Shorts.

Gotchas to avoid

  • YouTube's reported impressions include connected TV — those impressions are tied to IP-level geo, which is coarser than ZIP.
  • Custom Intent audiences combined with ZIP targeting often outperform pure demographic + ZIP.
  • Skippable in-stream ads under-deliver in tight ZIP sets — give the campaign at least 50 ZIPs to learn.
