LinkedIn Ads ZIP code targeting
Metro/city level only — ZIPs map to surrounding metros.
ZIP targeting
Workaround required
Import format
Metro/city targeting. Use ZIPs to identify which metros to target.
Practical limit
100 location targets per campaign.
Where to find it in the UI
Campaign → Audience → Locations
Step-by-step: ZipFencer → LinkedIn Ads
- 1
Run a ZipFencer search around your office or service hub.
- 2
Note which metros contain your target ZIPs (the city page tells you).
- 3
In LinkedIn, add those metros as locations.
- 4
Tighten with firmographic filters — title, company size, industry.
Gotchas to avoid
- LinkedIn does NOT accept ZIPs. Use your ZipFencer export to identify the surrounding metro and target that.
- Metro targeting reaches well beyond a single ZIP — expect 5–20x wider audience than the underlying ZIP set.
- Layering Job Title + Company Size + Industry keeps wide metro targeting tight enough for B2B.
